Acadia National Park

Last weekend I went to Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island on the coast of Maine. Beautiful place and a great time. Rain was the order of the day for the first day there but after that it cleared up and was beautiful. Great experience and wonderful place. Highly recommended....

This was Seawall which is just behind where I camped and across from the Atlantic ocean.Frenchman Bay

Boston Update

Last weekend was busy but a lot of fun. Saturday I went downtown to the Science Museum and checked out the planetarium. I had never been to a planetarium before, it was a neat experience. On Sunday Ben, Xiaodi and I went to Rockport, MA and had fresh lobster. We were also able to go out on a charter sailboat for the proverbial "three hour tour" albeit this one was an hour and a half. Luckily no storms came up... ;)

Feeling like Jimmy Buffet... :)
Lunch, fresh lobster just in from the pots. Awesome!
The schooner Appledore III

Ben enjoying the day. He wore the hat just to annoy Jen... :)
Xiaodi ate too much lobster and fell comatose. lol

Crazylegs '07

Today was the '07 Crazylegs Classic 8k. The race supports UW athletics and is named in honor of Elroy "Crazylegs" Hirsch; a former UW football player, former professional football player and former UW athletic director.

His nickname was permanently affixed to him by Chicago Daily News sportswriter Francis Powers who, upon witnessing him play for the Badgers against the Great Lakes Naval Station in 1942, wrote "His crazy legs were gyrating in six different directions, all at the same time; he looked like a demented duck." A "demented duck", sounds like my kind of guy... lol

Crazylegs Classic

My time for the 8k was 41:32.

Flying N515KG w/ Pete

Saturday afternoon, Pete and I went up in Wisconsin Aviation's Citabria which is based in Watertown, WI (RYV). Beautiful plane and a lot more fun to fly than a 172.

When we arrived at RYV, a P-51 and T-33 had both stopped for fuel so we had to take pictures.

After leaving RYV we flew to Hartford (KHXF) and along the way did turns around a point using the
National Shrine of Mary Catholic Church (Holy Hill) as our point. Amazing view but the wind was pushing us around quite a bit.

Here is Pete and 515KG:

Flying w/ Jodi

4/17/2007

Jodi and I went up flying around the local Madison area. We took an aerial tour of downtown Madison, flying by the capital and then circling back over west Madison and Middleton. We then went southwest of town and Jodi took over the flying duties maneuvering the the plane [Cessna 172 - N75706] in both level flight and turns at 4500 ft. MSL.

Great time was had by all...
